Website Optimization what is it SEO Anyway

Website Optimization or Optimisation for us British spellers,  is several different techniques used to make a website rank highly, in search engines, on the first page is what I aim for. When I say rank well, I mean appear highly in the results of a search engine search.

SEO has changed some in the past couple of years, as social bookmarking becomes more popular, so to seo has had to change.... radically, since webusers are now as likely to use search engines, but onsite searches, or searches on a website like facebook or twitter and hundreds of other websites, so now you need your website to rank highly in search engines, but also in social media websites. Don't think this is easy.... it's a heck of a lot of work.

The big thing about "Website Search Engine Optimization", is you don't want to rank well in search engines for just a few keywords or phrases, you want to have your site appearing high in searches for hundreds or even thousands of search phrases, because people search for things in different ways.

Just to prove a point how did you find this page in a search engine, was it from searching for "What is website search optimisation", or "website search engine optimization what is it", or simple "website search engine optimisation" or "SEO" or “Website Optimization, you may have even done a search for "Optimization Search Engine what is it" or SEO pricelist.

If I use too many more examples, the search engines will smack my hand for keyword stuffing. I will not use it again until the end, but my point is, if I had only optimized for one phrase, then someone else would have got your click if they search a different way, because they had that phrase optimized for by another website.

As you will notice, I am getting my optimisation and optimizations mixed up here, because being a Kiwi (New Zealander) we spell it with a s, and of because Americans spell it with a z. I'm trying really hard to get my spelling Americanised because funnily enough many Kiwi's use the word optimized, I guess because the term Search Engine Optimization was coined in America, so it sort of belongs to them, yet optimised has been around for years as a meaning to make better.

Anyway, back to ranking well in search engine results, I have written a few articles on why this is important, I'll think of a few links and put them on the end of this article.

I am notorious for writing long articles, so I'll keep this one short, my main point is that the job of any GOOD SEO or search engine optimisation consultant is to make your website findable in search engines for as many related and similar keywords as humanly possible, and it isn't too hard when you know what you are doing.
